This is my 23rd year of teaching. I graduated from Auburn University and earned my Master's from Piedmont University. I also have my gifted endorsement through Douglas County. I am blessed to have been a part of Brighten since it's opening in 2006. My husband Jay and I have two fabulous children - Joshua who is in 9th grade and Macy Beth who is in 6th grade this year. We also have a furry baby, our yellow lab Biscuit. When not teaching, I enjoy reading, shopping, and being with my family.
This is my 21st year teaching and 4th year at Brighten Academy. I received my undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. I taught in MA for a year then moved to Rochester, NY where I taught for 8 years. I received a Master's Degree in Arts for Children at the State University of New York. I moved to Douglasville, Georgia in 2007 to teach in a Fulton County School. I was a Brighten parent for three years before joining the first grade team. Two years ago, I received my Gifted Endorsement through the Douglas County School. My husband and I have three sons, my eldest Caleb will be in 6th grade, Alain is in 5th, and Tyler is in third grade. All three boys are still part of the Brighten family. When not in the classroom, I enjoy reading, traveling, and spending enjoyable moments with my family. I look forward to a wonderful year with our first graders!
This is my 15th year as an elementary teacher and my sixth year teaching at Brighten Academy. During my teaching experience, I continued my education and received a Masters Degree from Central Michigan University and an Educational Specialist Degree from Piedmont College. I have also received my gifted endorsement. I have a wonderful supportive husband and a beautiful daughter. When I’m not at school, I enjoy visiting local attractions with my family and then scrapbooking the pictures to capture the special memories.
This is my fifth year teaching at Brighten. I am honored to be a part of the Brighten family. I attended the University of West Georgia, then moved to Mercer University where I graduated magna cum laude and received my Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education. I am currently working on my gifted endorsement through Douglas County. I live in Winston with my husband Greg and our daughter Ellie. We recently welcomed a new addition to our family Brooks who was born in May. When I am not at school I enjoy visiting new places, trying new restaurants, reading, and spending time outdoors. My favorite thing to do is spend time with my family and friends.
